Hey Everyone
-
Hey guys,
I'm Ellie, I joined a little while ago, just before Christmas so I figured it was time I introduced myself.
I'm Australian, I have a couple horses of my own and I'm an eventer (although I have been a bit out of it the past couple of years). I currently work at a small Thoroughbred stud and I'm also a uni student studying Equine Science. I have an interest in both breeding and genetics, so I'm hoping this game will turn out quite fun -once I get the hang of it, that is. Still feeling like I need training wheels, but I'll get there!
I must say, the community of this game seems very friendly and helpful, and I'm very much looking forward to becoming a part of it. -
Welcome Ellie! We have a bunch of Aussies and a transplanted AusAmerican playing as well. It IS a great group of people playing!

Hello from the USA. I also have horses and love them. I dont ride much but seeing them and spending time with them is a lot of fun.
Ask questions I am still figuring out this game. I love genetics and this game is the best teacher i think. So what type of equine sciences are you studying? -
Welcome to the game. Aside from the handful of fantasy genes, the color genetics of this game are solidly based in current scientific knowledge. When the science is updated by new discoveries, Ammit, the game's creator, updates the game as soon as humanly possible. If you find a chance to browse through the Genetics Guide, you will see that if the exact location of a gene is known and it has a scientific name, that information is likely to be found there. It's a work in progress, though.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

Thanks for the warm welcomes.
I'm sure I'll have questions at some point.
I'm doing a Bachelor degree in Equine Science. It's fairly general degree that essentially combines science and horses, so it offers a bit of everything from breeding, nutrition, physiology, behaviour etc. I've got a few interesting subjects this year that I'm quite looking forward to, like locomotion, breeding technologies and reproduction. So yeah, it's a fairly general degree. Not sure what I'm going to with it yet, but for the moment I enjoy it.
I have had a little squiz at the Genetics Guide already, it's quite thorough. Certainly plenty of info in there to get the mind working. -
Sweet.
