Side project- percheron
-
Since I'm culling so many horses and starting over I've decided to try a little project. Got this idea from a new user who asked about real horse breeds and why we don't have them, it was explained why and they were told they could try making a line that resembles certain breeds. I have decided to try and make a percheron line! They are one of my favorite draft breeds and I want to give is a swing.
I know lots of you older player have specific color lines and would like advice on how to start from scratch. Right now my main concern is quality. I am going to start with basic based colors the breed is known for and work up.
I am going to try to get as many black and grey foundations as I can. Hopefully I can get RS (blackest night, ashes, shades of pale) and as many top producers as well. After I have a horses that produce good quality I'll try to bring in a few extra color (blue roan and black Bay probably)
I'll probably wait until 3rd Gen before I focus to much on making large horses----

That sounds like a good plan.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

Sweet! At first I was going to sell my other drafts but there no harm in having my special line and then my regular line----

Sounds like a fun line! Make sure you keep a look out for the black and grey HHs too! When people share them or if you happen to get them as your DHH. That way you can create some more mares for your line :)

I have a Homozygous Gray Warmblood mare that I would be willing to sell. She is 16hh with 2.19 bone. Also has a 9.9 Performance Test Grade.
