Unusual nameless horse number
-
So I created a string of mares and came up with one that had an ID number over double the usual number. I'm curious about what caused it - just a glitch, or could she be a time traveller from the future? Because 774052327871323 is a lot of pixel ponies.

I had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago. She was auctioned, though, so I can't link her :(. I assume it was just a glitch.

Oh wow! If yu ever want to sell her, let me know. Time traveling ponies are awesome!Thanked by 1ConfluenceFarms

LOL! Denali! You will have to name the horse Romanadvoratrelundar
-
It's because someone already used her ID number as a name. I am going to add a thing that blocks all number names other then the ID number to stop things like that. That number is the random filler generated as a place holder until she had an ID to make her name.

That sounds like a reasonable solution, Ammit. I do have a question. When I'm creating horses, I usually start out with a numerical date, 1227, for instance, followed by genetic code for the color/pattern of the herd helper. Today's horses would be 1227 Sb1 (and the sequential number of the create). If that system of naming would be blocked, I can go back to using month names with day numbers to start the placeholders.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."
SandyCreek Farm: ID# 441
also playing H&J1 as SandyCreek Acres: ID# 137592 -
That has letters in it, so would not be affected.

The unusual names are fun hough, though I understanding you wanting to fix it. Found a foal with this name in my pasture (added the "k" to keep her from auction, but other than that led it the same) Thought it was amazing. Guessing her ID number was already taken too.

Q: When you fix it to prevent people from taking other people's IDs, will it prevent people from naming a horse and then changing it back to its ID for auction registration purposes? -
Yep taken.

And sorry I don't understand your question. Not sure what the auction has to do with names.

Huh well that's cool. Wildland, if you'd like her shoot me a message. Otherwise I may be taking Confluence's suggestion
