She has been very consistent with giving me grullo splashes. 3 for 3.
Thank you Moon for this amazing mare. Her colt this year is superior to Dancer. -
Hey! I've seen her around when moon still owned her. She's very pretty----

Thank you. She has been a great help to my herd. I decided that I want to concentrate on quality rather than color right now. So far it is working in my foundation herd.
-
It makes me happy to see horses that I bred or created doing well for other people and making them happy! I'm happy she gave you a superior colt that means you've got someone to further your very loved line!
-
With a solid black mare and that colt best friend could probably breed a look alike foal of Dancer. Would be a really fun project----
Barn ID 4953 -
Fun fact, she is a True Grullo Tobiano Splash which means that she will always give a dominant E, tobiano, and splash allele to her foals. The only way to get a bay would be to breed her to a bay and she will not produce a chestnut foal. Nor will she produce a foal without splash or tobiano.
This is perhaps my most favorite herd helper. I had a mare Snow Flurries and she consistently produced the best of pasture foal each season. I loved her to pieces.
Your mare is also beautiful and looks to be as promising of a broodmare. Congrats!Thanked by 1MoonAcre Stables -
Thank you all.

Shes homozygous dun too Rits! I was going to type basically what you did but I was too lazy.. ;;)
-
I am very pleased with her. I am now starting to see the fruit of a quality starting line. My next quest is do I use a son of dancer to breed all of my 2g mares or do I need a different stallion. I have a few to choose from.
-
Well I have over 20 2g stallions.... lol. Theres a handful that are homozygous axiom boys (8 or 9) who I havent decided whether I'm keeping every one or selling. But the rest of them get used at least once every season. I have a ton of different lines so thats why I have so many boys lol.
You should definitely use a son of Dancer but I think you should mix it up a little with another stallion or two :) Especially to breed to Dancers daughters. -
That is what I was thinking. I have another superior that I bought. I think he is 2g as well.
-
Moon, I guess I forgot that one - lol!
