good china foal
  • Since I bred my good China stud and my good China mare together does that make the foal a good China as well? I haven't quite understood the breeding of rank specials. Is there any more value to their foals than normal foals?
  • Yep, that would be a second gen one.
  • @Best friend, the value of a rank special foal can be higher than the value of other foundation horses. Though that is often not the case unless limited edition (LE) genes have been added to the rank special horse, such that their offspring are carriers/express the LE gene.

Rank special horses often have special genes that make them more desirable - such as brindle - and they are either perfect or exceptional foundations. This gives their offspring the potential to be higher quality than other second generation offspring. However, the breeding quality of a foal can't be judged so foals are often sold at auction price or a little above (maybe 3,000hbs). If a player is looking for specific genes and wants to add new bloodlines to their herd, they could definitely contact your an offer higher prices but that is a very small market to negotiate.

The rank special symbol doesn't get carried to the offspring so your foal is an offspring of Good China, but I wouldn't advertise the foal as being a Good China. the foal would just be more likely to have the special genes from the rank special; DP, cream, splash, wild bay - to list a few.

    I hope that helps. :)
