Price?

So I had this Silver Pocket Watch stud up for sale for 20k hbs and people voted it was too high (this was the price I bought him for). Is 20k too much or what?

Granted he is a Rank Special stallion, but he really isn't all that special. He is homozygous for Black, Silver, and Splash, but all of them are common genes. Not only that, but Ammit has times when she gives everyone a share of specific rarer herd helpers, and I think this may have been one of them. Also, his Average Foal PT isn't particularly spectacular for a C papered stallion. It's a no higher than midrange for Perfect Foundation crosses, which runs from 8.9 to 10.4. Of his 26 living foals. Only 3 of them have a PT of 10 or higher. Of course a lot of them haven't been PT tested, but based on those that have, he's pretty ordinary for a Perfect Foundation. I think, as a breeder, he's rather blah.
He's showing near the bottom of 6 Regional, and is very slowly raising his score so that his placement is creeping upward in his classes. He will add just over 100 hbs to the owner's weekly income, and that will slowly increase, so he has some potential as a show horse, for a stable that needs to increase its showing bonus.
My suggestion would be to put him up for forum auction. You can set a reserve price that must be reached before you will sell him and hope that there will be enough interest to reach that. But you have little hope of coming close to what you paid for him. It might be better to geld him and keep him in your stable as a show horse. He has at least 4 more game years to contribute to your income.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

20k is a fair price when they are brand new but at his age and having a bunch of foals pulls his value down. Not sure he was worth voting down but 10k is more of a fair price.
