W2...
  • Can I breed W2 and frame together? I think it will produce a lethal white correct?
  • Ok I looked at the chart it is 0 percent. I am taking it for the foals viability. He will be born lethal correct?
  • @Best Friend, actually 0% corresponds to being completely safe! Hence the green. Green means go, and red mean stop.

For example, Frame crossed with Frame give a 1/4 probability for homozygosity of frame. That is equivalent to 25% which is in red to caution breeders.
  • Ok. Thank you for clearing that up. Is W2 a type of splash?
  • White 2 is a type of white. Splash is located on a different gene.

  • This filly's sire has Frame, and dame has W2 and Frame. It is possible to breed them. If the sire had not been GMT'd out of his W2, this filly would have died.

  • She is 75% lucky. Breeding two frame horses usually ends in a dead foal 75% of the time.

Like you I have bred two frame horses together but have only had a living foal twice

  • She is my first successful Frame-Frame foal. I have had a few accidental Frame-Frame crosses (pasture breedings), which did result is dead foals. I have been more careful with my Frame stock, but decided to take gambler's chance with this cross.
  • That's why I made my breeding precautions tattoo. I kept forgetting to check!! It has been a HUGE help!

  • Color--when you breed het frame to het frame, you have a 25% chance of a dead foal, a 50% chance of a live, frame carrier foal and a 25% chance of a foal with no frame. There are no naturally occurring homozygous frame horses in the game EXCEPT for Freaky Friday rank specials. If you breed two of them together, it's a 100% dead foal rate. If you breed a Freaky to a het frame, it's 75% dead, 25% frame carrier. And if you breed them to a non-frame horse it's 100% frame carrier live foals.

When you add a second lethal pairing to the math (like breeding a W2 Frame to a W2 Frame) the calculations get more complicated. If this interests you, you should research Punnetts Squares.
