Stallion papering?
-
How important is this? Dancer foals one mare got snipped and one foal was inconsistent. Should I now paper the colts?
-
Papering tells you the quality of the colts. This is a wonderful thing to keep in mind. I use it to know which foals are better, and which ones to cull or use in lower generations.
-
Ok then I will.
-
Two of his colts papered B which is better than Dancer who is papered at C. Is that good for Dancer or what should I be looking for on my 2g foal colts out of him?
-
Bs are what you are looking for with 2g stock. The C I'd decide if I want to cull or use with foundation mares because he is foundation quality. With the two Bs, you can leave it as is, or the next step would be to comparison test them to Cancer and see if they are superior to sire, or about as good as (since they are bs, we know they are better than him, but aga would show the they are only a little better. Comparison tests are pricy though.
-
There is one colt that I want to comparison test but do I put the colts name first and then dancer on the right?
-
Yes, if you do it the other was it will read Dancer is.... to so and so instead of so and so is... to Dancer. You would just have to do that little mental dance.

Ok thank you for the help.
