Low PT score?
  • My horse made Doris faint? What would you all do with him?

  • In my herd he would go straight to Auction....I've kept some pasture broodmares with PTs that low and they turn out ok as mamas, but I wouldn't keep a stallion. My boys are expected to do double duty as show horses and studs...and this one will be a pretty bad show pony. If he had something majorly special going on color wise I might consider keeping him, but he looks to be a plain bright bay...I would toss him in the auction and if you want a bay foundation stallion I would buy one from owner number 13 for 2750. All horses owned by 13 (the Foundation Rescue) are perfect foundations--foundations with the top possible breedin and showing ability for that generation in the game. They may not be from a Perfect foundation herd helper, but you know you are getting top quality there!
  • (But there is no right or wrong answer here! If you want to give him a try, go for it!)
  • I was thinking of putting him in auction. Mom said that he will level off early. She said the same.
  • I have never kept a colt with that low of a PT. I get more than enough colts that have higher PT scores. As Cheers said, if he were a mare, I would give him a chance on three foals. I have had a .2 mare that had an AFPT of over 10, and she gave me many excellent foals both as show horses and breeders. I just never thought to give a colt/stallion a chance is all. It is ultimately up to you though. This is just what I have done is all, others do it differently. Again, as Cheers said, there is no right or wrong answer.
